-ABOUT-
Sari Lynn Stardust grew up with old music playing constantly around the house with singing as a hobby. Her mother listened to ABBA on the regular, and her father, who was a young man during the 1980s, had a huge amount of retro CDs. One of those CDs was a Disco hits compilation CD, which a young Sari borrowed and listened to on her pink boombox. It was at that moment she realized she loved music from the 1970s and 1980s. A fateful encounter with a manga book at the library led young Sari Lynn to listen to J-Pop music, which became a life-long hyperfixation. In middle school, she was introduced to fictional idols, which became her primary muse until the coronavirus pandemic.Although interested in city pop since college, Sari Lynn never seriously got into showa idols and music until the pandemic forced her to have a lot of extra time. During this time she became fascinated with the celebrities and culture of showa era Japan, particularly of its female idols, and began making fan pages as “Onyanko Club Central.” Some of these pages became very popular due to the deep knowledge and effort put into them, so Sari Lynn became a relatively well known figure in the community. After the pandemic concluded many people in a Showa Idol themed Discord server suggested Sari Lynn make a debut as an idol herself after she posted some song covers there… so she did!Sari Lynn made her debut at Otakon 2024. Her image and style is a blend of popular styles in both Japanese and American culture in the 1980s. She also currently writes singable lyrics in English for existing songs and is working on writing lyrics for her own potential musical projects in the future.
